Privacy policy

Your wedding memories are exactly that — yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, who can ever see it, and the rights you have under the GDPR and other privacy laws. We built camera.wedding to be private by default.

Who we are

camera.wedding is operated by Eiras Labs LLC, registered at Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. We are the “data controller” responsible for your information. Because we offer our service to people in the EU/EEA and the UK, we comply with the GDPR and UK GDPR in addition to applicable UAE data protection law. For any privacy question — or to exercise your rights — email us at hello@camera.wedding.

What we collect

We keep as little as possible. Depending on how you use camera.wedding, this can include:

  • Couple account details — the names on your album, your wedding date, an optional venue, and the email address you sign in with.
  • Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe. We only ever see the amount, the currency, and whether a payment succeeded; we never store your full card number.
  • Guest uploads — the photos and videos guests choose to share, plus an optional first name if they add one. Guests never need an account and we never ask for their contact details.
  • Technical data — privacy-friendly analytics (such as page views and rough device type) and security logs needed to keep the service running and prevent abuse.

Why we use your data, and our legal basis

Under the GDPR we must have a lawful reason for everything we do with your data. Here is ours:

  • To provide your album — hosting your photos, serving your private gallery, and giving you download, hide, and delete controls. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To process payments and issue receipts. Legal basis: performance of our contract, plus our legal obligation to keep tax and accounting records.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
  • To send service emails — like a reminder to download your memories before storage ends. Legal basis: performance of our contract. Any marketing email would be sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who can see your album

Albums are private by default and reachable only through their unique, unlisted link — they are never listed, indexed, or made public. The couple decides whether guests may browse the gallery, and only the couple can download, hide, or delete uploads. No one at camera.wedding browses your photos; staff access is restricted to the rare cases where it is needed to fix a technical problem or comply with the law.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data, and we never use your photos for advertising or to train AI. We rely on a small number of trusted providers (sub-processors) who handle data only on our instructions:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — secure cloud storage and delivery of your photos and videos.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Zoho ZeptoMail — sending sign-in codes and service emails.
  • Google — only if you choose “Sign in with Google,” to verify your identity.
  • A privacy-friendly analytics provider — to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. No cross-site advertising or tracking.

Where your data is stored

Our servers are hosted with AWS in the United States. When your data leaves the EU/EEA, that transfer is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with AWS’s data-protection commitments, so your information keeps an equivalent level of legal protection wherever it is processed.

How long we keep your memories

Storage follows the plan you chose — from 6 months up to 2 years after your wedding. Before your storage window ends we remind you to download everything as a ZIP, and afterwards your photos and videos are permanently deleted from our servers. We keep payment and invoice records for as long as tax law requires, and we delete account data once it is no longer needed.

Cookies & analytics

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service working, plus a privacy-friendly analytics tool that helps us understand how the site is used without tracking you across the web. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad pixels.

Your rights

Wherever you live — and especially under the GDPR — you have strong rights over your data. You can:

  • Access the data we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your data — couples can erase their album and every upload at any time from Settings.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format, or ask us to send it elsewhere.
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.

Exercising your rights, and guests’ rights

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@camera.wedding — it is free, and we will respond within 30 days. Because guests upload to a couple’s private album, a guest can ask either the couple or us to remove any photo of them, and we will help. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Children

Weddings are family occasions, and guests may upload photos that include children. If you are a parent or guardian and want a photo of your child removed, contact the couple or email us at hello@camera.wedding and we will take it down promptly. camera.wedding accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or over.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let couples know by email. The version published here is always the current one.
